On Tuesday, May 29, 2017, was indeed a black day for the entire universe. Townspeople of Denkyira-Obuasi, a small community in the Central Region killed a military officer, Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama, for an alleged offence by mistaking him for an armed robber.
The large crowd of people assaulted him to a point where he could no longer hold his breath and died. They attacked him with stones, building blocks, heavy sticks, woods after which they set him ablaze. The terrible and condemnable act ignited immediate investigations into the murder of the soldier which led to the arrest of some residents.
The cruel incident which got tongues all around the world ranting also garnered a campaign against instance mon justice in Ghana. There were numerous call for immediate action on the killers, over 50 persons were arrested in connection to the his lynch.
The wife of the late Major Maxwell Mahama, Barbara, is continuing to mourn him three years after his painful death.
In a latest post on social media, Barbara shared a unique artwork of her husband’s image along with a heart-breaking caption.
”It feels like you‘ve been gone for just 3 days. Continue to rest well Maxwell. We miss you is an understatement. Jaden still remembers that you told him you were going to come back from that journey #foreverloved #3years,” Barbara Mahama wrote.
