CAF Champions League: Kotoko Vs Nouadhibou cancelled over COVID-19 dispute
The CAF Champions League preliminarily game involving Asante Kotoko and FC Nouadhibou has been called off.
The return leg encounter which was expected to kickoff 3pm at the Accra Sports Stadium couldn’t come off over COVID-19 related issue.
According to reports, two players of Nouadhibou tested positive for COVID-19 at the Airport.
Today the club decided to include the 2 players in the match day squad but bench them.
The match commissioner assigned for the game ordered the club to isolate the players by sending away from the bench but the club refused.
After over an hour of talks, Nouadhibou insisted on keeping the players on the bench.
The match commissioner and match officials decided to call off the game over FC Nouadhibou’s insistence on breaking the CAF COVID-19 precautionary rule.
CAF has rescheduled the game yo Sunday December 6, 2020 at 3:00 GMT.
