The decision was made after a meeting by the Executive Council of the football association.
Following a marathon meeting on Tuesday 30th June 2020 at the GFA secretariat, the Executive Council agreed on canceling the season.
The season has been on a long break since early March when the President of Ghana placed a ban on social gathering as one of the measures against the spread of coronavirus.
The clubs have released their players home with no information on when football will return again.
According to the GFA, details of their next move after the season cancellation will be made public later.
For the 2nd time in a row, the Ghana football season has come to an unexpected end with the first being the season cancellation as a result of the famous football corruption Exposé dubbed Number 12.
