Blackstars Coach, Akwesi Appiah Ready To Recall New Barca Player, KP Boateng On One Condition
The coach of the senior national team of Ghana, James Akwesi Appiah says the Blackstars door is still open to Kevin Prince Boateng.
The newly signed Barcelona player together with Sulley Muntari were suspended by the Ghana Football Association following gross indiscipline they showed in camp during Brazil 2014.
Speaking on Asempa Fm, Akwesi Appiah said he will only invite Kevin Prince Boateng on one condition.
“If you look at our striking options, we have always relied on [Asamoah] Gyan, so it’s about time we all checked and got at least four strikers that we can always rely on.
“Kevin is one of the good strikers as I have said, but in Brazil, he and Sulley were suspended by the FA for their unruly behaviours.
“I think Sulley has written a letter to apologise and looking at how Kevin is playing now, if he should write a letter to apologise, I will invite him because it is about the country [and] not about any individual.”
Born in Germany to a Ghanaian father, Kevin Prince Boateng has featured in two tournaments for the Blackstars of Ghana.
His first tournament, South Africa 2010 World Cup earned him praise worldwide but his 2nd tournament, Brazil 2014 World Cup was a sharp contrast with the player being thrown out of camp for verbally abusing his coach, Akwesi Appiah
