Beloved Community Member Debbie L. Lanier Obituary, Visitation and Funeral

Debbie L. Lanier, 68, of 260 Faulkner Road, passed away at Spartanburg Medical Center on April 27, 2023.

Debbie (also known as Mom, Mama, Aunt Debbie, and Debs) had a long and fruitful life. She was a wife, friend, aunt, cousin, daughter, sister, mother, and caregiver. She devoted her entire life to showing love to others and making sure they felt appreciated and cherished.

The stories and passions Debbie had will go on in memory of her. She was always considerate, sincere, and kind. She had incomparable character and heart. Even as she grew older and her body started to fail her, Debbie remained independent, devoted, and active. She worked in textiles and restaurants throughout her career while also raising her two own sons and numerous other kids.

Mrs. Lanier is survived by her son Andrew Lanier, brother Kenny Lanier, nephew James Lanier II, as well as a large number of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Lanier was predeceased by her son Justin Adam Lanier in addition to her parents, Forest and Myrtle Dover Lanier.

On Monday, May 1, 2023, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, the family will host visitors at Gordon Mortuary. The Rev. Michael D. Owen will preside over a memorial ceremony that will take place at the Gordon Mortuary Chapel right after, at 4:00 p.m.
