Ayer MA Car Accident, Massachusetts Accident – Traffic Collision Left 16-year-old Girl Dead

Ayer girl, 16, lost her life in collision on Thursday in Leominster. 
Around o’clock, according to Massachusetts State Police, it occurred on Route 190.

 

Three additional teenagers suffered significant injuries.

 

The 2001 Ford Mustang the adolescents were riding in seemed to be moving north in the right lane. 
The driver proceeded to the left lane and lost control as it neared other vehicles in the right lane, according to State Police.

 

The vehicle veered off the road, descended hill, and entered some trees. 
Three of the youths were pinned inside or beneath the vehicle.

An 18-year-old Shirley teenager who they suspect to be the driver was brought to Leominster Hospital, according to state police. 
Shirley girl, 16, and Bolton boy, 18, were sent to UMass Hospital-Lakeside.

 

Principal Spencer Christie said that two of the teenagers, including the 16-year-old who died, went to Ayer-Shirley Regional High School.

“Sudden death is always tragic and can have a profound effect on children. It is important for us to recognize this and offer assistance to children in dealing with the tragedy, said a statement from Superintendent Dr. Adam Renda. “In order to assist our students and staff cope with the great sadness and shock of this tragedy, I requested and obtained needed support and resources of mental health staff throughout the district. Today, school counselors, social workers and psychologists from various offices and school locations have assisted us in dealing with our students and staff.”
