Asante Kotoko made over 110,000 Dollars from gate proceeds in the CAF Champions League game against Kano Pillars

Kumasi Asante Kotoko hosted Kano Pillars yesterday in the 2nd leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary stage.

The game ended in a 2-0 victory for the Porcupine Warriors who have advanced to the next stage with a 4-3 aggregate scoreline.

The game attracted thousands of people to the Baba Yara Stadium. The atmosphere the fans created at the almost packed to capacity stadium obviously played a part in the victory over the Nigeria club.

According to reports, the team printed 32,000 tickets for the game and grossed GH590,480 approximately $110,000, from the gate.

Earlier on Saturday, Ashanti Gold thrashed Akunagui of Equatorial Guinea 3-0 in the CAF Confederations Cup. The miners made GH39, 000, approximately $7,200 from gate proceeds.
