Asante kotoko game against Al Hilal of Sudan called off over COVID-19 complications

The CAF Champions League game between Asante Kotoko of Ghana and Al Hilal of Sudan has been called off.

The game which was scheduled to kick off 3pm in Sudan (1pm) has been called off because of COVID-19 complications.

An hour to the game, the results of the COVID-19 test taken by both sets of teams arrived at the at the stadium.

Some of the Kotoko players didn’t receive their test results forcing the game to be delayed while they waited for the results.

After 30 minutes of waiting the results didn’t arrive so the Ghanaian club couldn’t raise a team for the game to start.

Asante kotoko have petitioned the organizers of the competition CAF to raise issues of irregularities in the COVID-19 test results given to them.

A decision from CAF is expected to arrive by the close of the day.
