The names of two of the three adolescents who died after a fire was started by a woman, 21, who was allegedly driving under the influence and collided with Interstate 215 near Murrieta.
According to the California Highway Patrol, two people died early on Monday morning on the southbound I-215 connector to southbound Interstate 15: Angel Chavez, 15, of Hemet, and Aniyah Edwards, 17, of Menifee.
A second youngster, named simply as an El Cajon girl, 15, also died, but coroner’s authorities Tuesday withheld her identity until they checked the records.
According to Officer Mike Lassig, Rodriguez “lost control,” leading the 2008 Dodge Charger to “go off of the west roadway edge,” while driving it at an unknown speed in moderate rain.
