The unfortunate event occurred just before 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Haverford Road and SR-78, where several gunshots were heard. Prompt reporting led responding deputies to discover Jauregui at the scene, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, with a red Ford F150 nearby, according to the SDSO.
Paramedics rushed Jauregui to a local hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, and as of now, no information about the suspect has been disclosed by SDSO.
