Abysmal Kotoko narrowly beat Kenya Kariobangi Sharks to qualify to next stage of CAF Conf Cup

Asante Kotoko have moved to the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup win a 2-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks of Kenya.

The Porcupine Warriors this afternoon laboured to gain the needed result to progress in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Kariobangi Sharks drew goalless with Kotoko in the first leg in Nairobi a week ago.

The return leg in Kumasi was a make or break for either side.

Asante Kotoko took the lead in the 17th minute through striker Abdul Fatawu. The Kenyans leveled the score 10 minutes later with a goal from Omoto.

The equalizer did send shivers down the spines of the teeming Kotoko fans at the stadium.

On the 37th minute, the reds were awarded a penalty kick which was beautifully converted by captain Amos Frimpong.

The 2nd half saw Kotoko labor to preserve the narrow lead which they eventually did to secure a ticket to the next round of the competition.
